Mass Update
Aug. 10th, 2012 11:26 pmFinally managed to kill Doctor CrazyLady. I have no idea yet why she's immune to biotics, but she screwed with my crew so she had to pay. We went to the Citadel and they said they were very very sorry for being complete assmonkeys for so many years, that I was right, and how many warships did I need to save Earth?
Or they didn't. You guess.
But I got a war correspondant, and I got my doctor back, and I punched the reporter again. I bought some flowers and a Tennyson collection for Ashley but she didn't wake up yet. When I went back to the ship, I met Specialist Winifred Burkle. She apparently is my support staff crush for this game.

Date: 2012-08-13 05:50 pm (UTC)I would kind of like to sit down with his writer and pick his brains over what he was thinking writing Vega (y'know, the stuff that didn't actually make it on-screen), but given that he was the head writer and the backlash he likely took for the original ending (and the fact that I haven't seen him make peep on Twitter since then, when he'd been fairly active prior to it), I doubt I'll ever get the chance.
I don't know if you need this encouragment, but I'm going to mention anyway that you should make a point of going around and talking to everyone after every mission. It can be a PITA having to wait for the loading time taking the elevator, but there's a lot of dialogues in there. Cortez has a bunch of stuff in Act I, after some major missions, and after every N7 sidequest mission (I think). But the regular squadmates tend to have something to say after every Priority mission.
Also, if you don't have the Extended Cut installed, do so, because it fixed a ship dialogue bug that can impact you early on in the game (dialogue you'll miss if it's not installed).

Date: 2012-08-13 06:00 pm (UTC)It's quick right now cuz there's just the three of us, and I'm just breaking open the sandbox so that'll change.
I have Extended Cut, From Ashes, and the two multi player packages installed. (Also? Played some multiplayer last night, and the ghosting did not happen. In fact, I got schooled every single time I stood up.)

Date: 2012-08-13 06:55 pm (UTC)Three of us? If you are where I think you are, there should be Liara, Vega, Cortez, Joker, and Traynor. Also to some extent your doctor (if you've recruited her) and Engineer Adams.

There should be three MP packages installed; I'm surprised you were able to catch a match if you don't have them all installed.
Well, no ghosting is good, actually. :) Now we just need to arrange for a time for us to play together (and I have at least one friend who I can probably persuade to help us out). I'm not sure if having a voice program running in addition to ME3 would make your computer cry but, if you can, installing Mumble would allow you to talk to us while we played. :>

Date: 2012-08-13 07:22 pm (UTC)Ah, okay. :) That's true, but since there a lot more people to visit than just three, I know how it can seem long. :>

Okay, good. :)

I was doing that for a while. If you can get it to work, that'd be awesome (the only potential issue there is having to have the mic open and not being able to do push-to-talk, but I've done it both ways. We can discuss it further when you're not at GenCon, which is where I'm assuming you'll be this week. :)

Date: 2012-08-13 10:53 pm (UTC)We're going to have a Far West gathering, and it looks like there will be a Deadlands game that we can watch, but I may have a conflict with that.
