At this point it's pretty obvious that I'm sick. It's also pretty obviously AmberCon weekend. That thing I've been obsessing about ever since I stopped obsessing about the play. With people I haven't seen in forever, some of whom are really cute. And stuff I want to do. And stuff people expect me to do.

I don't know how contagious I am. I know hotel air gives me respiratory problems when I'm not full of phlegm (my favorite humour, it seems), let alone when my throat is already raw. Then there's the fact that I will spend the entire weekend talking. Occasionally shouting (a room with fifteen musketeers means it's mandatory), laughing, and perhaps drunken karaoking. And convention hours, and trying to sleep at a hotel, and keeping Amanda awake when I do it, and convention eating...

Fucksicles. I really don't think I can go. ....well. Not for the whole weekend, anyway. Maybe I could come down for dinner or something?

Neti Pot and a shit-ton of Vitamin C, NOW.

Also, two spoonfuls of apple cider vinegar followed by a full glass of water, several times a day. Apple cider vinegar is seriously the wonder drug.

I'm so sorry that you fear you'll have to miss parts of your conference. BUMMER.

I agree about the apple cider vinegar. I hate taking it and it often burns going down, but it is only a momentary pain and somehow I feel MUCH better afterward. It clears my sinuses and soothes my sore throat (after that initial sting).

So, it depends on whom you ask. For sore throats I usually take it straight so its anti-inflammatory properties can go directly on the throat, then wait a few seconds, and then chase it with a glass of water. I'm a vinegar lover, though, so the taste doesn't make me gag. If you find the smell appalling, I've read that diluting it is fine. You definitely want to at least rinse your mouth out afterwards because it's hard on your teeth.

Yeah, anything pickled is tops in my book. Pickles, hot peppers, kim chee, you name it. Vinegar + salt = awesomesauce.

Hope you feel better soon, CJ.
