One benefit of telling iTunes "Just grab stuff randomly out of the library* and stuff it in the iPod" is that you come across things you might have heard once before--or, honestly, perhaps you heard the first ten seconds of, or (if you're not obsessive like me) just ripped it straight off the disk and chucked it into the drive--with a new ear. And you discover something you'd never known before.

And then, of course, the next cut is a beloved and well polished chestnut.

And then there's this again just because.

*I know, I know, only old people have a 'music library' these days, because they don't know about Spotify or Songza or Instagram or whatever has appeared on the web in the past five minutes and all the kids dig now.
