Why can't I have normal anxiety dreams?

The-girl-I-have-a-crush-on is explaining how she's 'not technically dating' this guy when my cel phone rings and it's work calling to tell me I'm fired for missing a shift I promised to work for somebody else. And then I wake up because the muscle in my neck (which I'd been complaining about in the dream) is painfully tight.

Well. I can't go back to sleep. Might as well feed the cats.

I'm not terribly familiar with dreaming any more, but I'd assumed being chased by monsters with big pointy teeth or violent natural cataclysms or things that were life threatening would be more common.

I dunno. A lot of my anxiety dreams seem to revolve around taking exams. :) Last night was an exception.

I hope tomorrow night's more peaceful for both of us.
