I realize this is all my own fault for playing a video game.
However.
Playing stupid Link game. There's a chest in a dungeon that I couldn't get to the first time through, and since it probably has a treasure in it that I can't win the game without, I try to go back for it.
Step One: Getting into the dungeon. Involves lots of jumping and leaping and floating and riding tornadoes and getting spat out of plants. One mis-step and you have to start over. Usually all over.
Step Two: Figuring out how to get to the rooms where the chests are at. Solving lots of puzzles and fighting monsters and searching rooms for the secret or hidden escape ways.
Step Three: Getting into the boss room where the door locks until you and the boss monster have duked it out. Except.
I already killed the boss in this room. So the door won't unlock until I kill the non-existent boss. And there's nothing lethal in here I can use to kill myself.

*blinks*

That sounds odd. I've re-visited a few dungeons after the fact and haven't had any problems with getting out.

Is this a mini-boss or the main boss? If it's the main boss, then there should be a teleporter to get out of the room.

Just a miniboss. The stupid moth guy. And the compass says it's two yellow lines next to each other--probably a trasure map or something. I've decided to have breakfast and then press reset and say 'screw that chest.'

I don't recognize the description of 'two yellow lines'...can you show me this afternoon?

Usually the 'one yellow line' means a door, and 'two yellow lines' means a treasure chest. (And it was only in the next room. grrr.)

Oh, and what do you think you missed?

Here's the irony.

It was a joy pendant.

You know, I have had days like that.

Hell, I've had whole relationships like that. :)

Love ya!

Oh hey. So, with the whole hotel room fiasco, I'm trying to find a way to stay at OryCon without breaking the bank.
(Especially after the incident this week.)
And so I thought that you might know people who would have crash space, preferrably at the hotel.

Honestly, since I'm not doing much with the Cam and the SCA doesn't really get involved with Orycon so I'm not hearing about it through the one place I am actually socializing, I don't even know anyone who's going... You're welcome to stay here, but transport might be a pain, since we're not going. When is it?

What incident?

Not going? I'm surprised. But it's the weekend of 15 November.
The incident in question (which I am researching) was my discovery that either my rent check got cashed twice or I have about $600 less than I thought I did in my account.

I haven't been to the last several Orycons... May be next year, as my book should hit the shelves in time to maybe do some promotional stuff for it... I really need to buckle down and write the damned thing... I'm finding incredible amounts of things that need to be done instead (at the moment, I'm pulling all the books off my bookshelves and organizing them by theme, under the pretense of selling a bunch at Powells.)

*Sigh*
