This was not old news to me. I haven't been paying close enough attention to the late-night back-room politicking that's been going on in Congress lately. Color me amazed and aghast.
Yeah, the white house staff doesn't exactly put stuff like this at the top of the Talking Points Memos. On an unrelated topic, I tried to secretly get your new address but I'm having some communication problems up north. I'm going to mail your present and want to know where to send it.
My favorite line in the whole piece: One Republican hid in the Democratic cloakroom. I keep picturing him cowering behind coats and whispering, "Please don't let them find me!" It's keeping me very entertained.
