This was a busy weekend. Next week, possibly the week after, I only have one-day weekends so they'll probably be busy too. I still have about 92845749385762983467 things that need to be done this weekend but the cat is sitting on my hip and I can't go do any of them. So I'm boned.
Snookles--I finally started listening to 69 Love Songs, and like it a lot.
Friday... I don't remember Friday morning but none of it involved going to CostCo and buying plastic bags, V8 juice, plastic luncheon sacks or crappy pot noodle.
Luncheon with Christy, discussing gaming and me DJing the Chris* reception/party/quest/thing.
Friday night I got the delightful opportunity to accompany Ms. Melimus to Club Enslaved. I'd forgotten my cel phone on the charger, so I had to enlist a neighbor to call her and tell her I was waiting on her doorstep. Not tremendously enthused with the event itself (various bitching about the music and other things taken as read) but the eye candy was sweet and hard, the company was charming and lovely, and the trip up to the city and travelling around in it was far more pleasant than last week's effort. And it was not as hot as I'd dreaded it would be. Which is good because I was wearing a wool cassock since my fetish-appropriate wardrobe is miniscule.
I started on my way home a little after two, having assured the fabulous Ms. M that I'd be fine to drive. And then there was a car wreck on 101 (shock! amazement!) which shut down all four lanes. So there was much leaning on the brake and trying to stay awake knowing that if I dozed off and my foot slid off the brake and onto the gas there would be another accident but at least it would be less severe. By four o'clock I was home to feed the starvating kitties and then crawl to bed to try and get some sleep before my next trip to the City later that morning.
Two hours later the kitties informed me that it was time for their morning feeding. I killed them and went back to sleep until ten. Got a quick shower and finished the milk yoghurt and cereal for breakfast before Ellie showed up to take me to Millbrae BART. We got to Powell Station, fetched her some caffeine, and then I was sucked into Rasputin and forced to browse CDs. (Found Swing the Heartache, and discovered that Bruderschaft has been released in the US finally. Didn't actually buy anything.) Then there was a trip to Lush. Disappointed because I couldn't actually smell anything in the store (smells were overwhelming and made me light headed), but once folks did their shopping, we perused things outside the store and many of them were delightful. Demon in the Dark was surprisingly minty.
And then a trip to the Metreon (v. impressive) to see Starsky and Hutch, which I liked better than I expected. They did their homework and it was nicely evocative of the original work, aside from Huggy Bear.
After a quick trip to Redwood City, there was sushi dinner with Phil and Eric whom I have not seen in some time, and a long sustained rant disguised as political discussion. Which gave me a cranky tummy, and I came home to feed the starving kitties and get laundry done before work tomorrow morning.
And now the ever yummy Ioan Gruffud is on my television so I have to go. Okay love ya b'bye.
