The highway's jammed with broken heroes

My friend Chanel is dead. She died last week in an auto accident. I'm supposed to be working on writing a cover letter to go with the revamped resume I still haven't finished so I can apply for the Executive Assistant job at SkyWest, which has to be done by Friday. At first, all I could think was "You were driving too fast and talking on the cel phone again, weren't you? I told you and told you." And lately it's "That trip to Portland is never going to happen now." Either way I'm afraid my mind isn't much on my work.
