This snippet from reading Dave Barry today made me laugh.
But assuming they don't arrest me, I plan to attend some actual Olympic sporting events and report my findings, so keep reading this space, unless you happen to live in Florida, in which case please put this paper down right now, go to my house and put up my hurricane shutters. Thank you.

Um. I'm about as far from LAX as Portland is from Seattle. I may be misunderstanding but I don't think that would work for either of us. (: Is your hotel near Disneyland or near LA? (If so, you might try to fly into Orange County or something nearer the attraction.)
We can talk, and I'll give what advice I can manage. I might even be able, depending on my schedule, to fly down and see you guys.

hrm... I was under the impression that we were going near to the deal, but Mum bought the tix, and said LAX.. so I'll have to double check.

I thought you worked at LAX?

I work at SFO, the other big airport in California. But yeah, do double check with her about where your hotel is and where you're actually flying in and stuff. If the place is close to the airport, lots of times there's a free shuttle bus that will take you there totally freebies.
