cyranoSo sometime last night somebody broke into my car.
Guess how I know.

Because when I went to turn on the CD player, I failed to find it. As usual, however, I am very fortunate in my misfortune. I had my big fat CD envelope in the house, I'd taken out the library CD that was in the player, there was minimal damage to the car (the rubber moulding around the passenger side window where they popped the lock, screwdriver marks where they pried the stereo out, no torn wires, even the metal face was popped off unbent and set in the footwell), and the stereo was the only thing missing. I'd guess he didn't open the glove box and notice the discman in there. At first I thought he'd stolen my pirate-skull keychain as well, which at least would indicate that the thief had taste. But I found it after I got off work and went over the car carefully.
So it's time to check the bank account and see what it'll take to afford a replacement.
Add: As good news for today, I have a couple of days off, and Logan Tom's new haircut is totally hot. It's butch short and looks darker and she can bump set and spike me any time.
