Having just seen Patrick Buchanan on the Daily Show say that if you live in a state that the media have decided are going to vote solidly for one of the two disturbingly similar major political parties then your vote just doesn't count, I just want to say this:

Yeah, he only said that he couldn't vote for Kerry. Maybe he's one of those Nader-Republicans we hear so much about.

As for the comment on my vote not counting, well, I was just observing this to my fiancee. Not so much that my vote doesn't count, perhaps, as much as that the candidates don't care about it. I don't think either Kerry or Bush is doing much campaigning in Massachusetts.

Does this mean my vote doesn't count? No, not really, I suppose. Does it mean I'm not voting? Hell no; I voted in the Democratic primary this week, and mostly people were unopposed.

And yet...
