The 'party shuffle' function on iTunes is doing an excellent job this morning.

I Want you Back -- KT Tunstall
Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes -- Paul Simon
Methar (The Original Indian Vibes Mix) -- Dave Pike Set
Garbo -- Falco
Candyman -- The KLF
A Change Would Do You Good -- Cheryl Crow
Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day -- Brian Ferry

But, proving that nobody's perfect, the next track is

What a Good Year for the Roses -- Elvis Costello

I suppose when I saw the first bag all puffed up and distended I should have just tossed them all and given up on the idea of sweet potato home fries. But they sounded really yummy, and one of the bags was only two or three days past its 'use by' date.

ick.
cyrano: (writing)
I'm getting to the point where I've been fighting this particular piece of fanfic for nearly as long as the LARP ran. The latest realization that canon demands I completely rewrite the last third of the story has crushed the carefully cultivated floon which I had gathered recently.
I feel like shoving it into 'the trunk', that fabled place where writers put things that just don't work and then occasionally cannibalize the contents for scenes or turns of phrase. But at the same time, I'm stubborn and refuse to give up on something that has anything good in it. And there's some good stuff in there.
Admittedly, the fact that it's basically the last chapter of book three of a trilogy that about six people I know have read and half of the people who have read it don't want to have anything to do with it, so it's pretty much all about me at this point.
I'm sure there's some smut I could be writing about now.
