Called for the doctor, doctor said
Mar. 6th, 2007 10:41 amUpdate on insurancey goodness:
The 800 number the insurance company gave me was for the EAP*, and will not in fact do me any good. So it's back to customer service to try and figure out WTF.
So, UHC, WTF?
*EAP==Employee Assistance Program, sort of a suicide hotline/drug abuse counselling "I desperately need help right now" service. At which point I may be if this keeps up. PS: What the hell is an "I need help right now" service doing shutting down promptly at five?
UPDATE:
After only two weeks of slamming my head against brick walls (and an unneccessary doctor's appointment that *was* covered by insurance) I have discovered that my plan does all mental health through the medical programme. And, of course, most psychaitry offices don't contract that way. However, I got a helpful insurance rep who told me how I could file for a 'Gap Exception' if I were to get a doctor's name and tax ID#. She did not say how likely the exception was to be granted, but this is far better than I've had so far.

White Pepper Ice Cream
Mar. 6th, 2007 04:03 pmI may have overdone it.
I bought apples at Milkpail before I found out that Trader Joe's still had flats of Clementines, which are far more convenient for me.
So I have vegetable slurry. I have spinach salad, with shredded carrot and mushrooms and broccoli. I've still got a little chili from last week. I have apples. I have Clementines. I have tofu that I thought was going into the slurry but didn't make the cut. I have asparagus, fresh okra, green beans, a parsnip and a handful of other fresh vegetables.
I should see about eating these before they go bad.
(hrmmm. In the spirit of Iron Chef, I could investigate fresh okra ice cream.)
