cyrano: (Like Sloths to a Flames Game)
By the time you read this, she should have a post up on her own journal, but last night the housemate had her first hockey game. They won, she had an assist, and I think she's already at +2. She's part of a very cute team, so you locals should come check out Absolute Zero at Logitech Ice. The next game is Sunday afternoon, so you can't use that whiny excuse of "Oh I can't stay up until two in the morning, I have wooooooooork".

Also, it's technically Monday so it's Top of the Pops time.

Amazing Grace - Ani di Franco
Son of a Preacher Man - Girlyman
6 Underground (Nellee Hooper Mix) - Sneaker Pimps
Creep - Richard Cheese
La Habanera - Aria
Pomegranate - TransGlobal Underground
White American Male (The Truth Hurts) - Consolidated
The Henry Kissinger Song - Monty Python
The Look of Love - ABC
Elvis is Everywhere - Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper

My last trip to the library included picking up two Elvis Presley CDs. Much like Rush, Presley was one of those artists that I pretty much avoided or mocked without listening to because of the louder more insane fans. I'm working on breaking out of this blinder, though, and not blaming the artist for the fanbase. (After all, I do enjoy Firefly.)
And there's quite a bit of it I'm enjoying. Odds are good that any song with trumpets, a string section or an organ are going to be on my 'not for re-listening pleasure' list, as well as anything with three young tenor backup singers. But just him and a guitar seems to work pretty well for me. He's still not *THE* Elvis, in my mind, but I've allowed as how there might be somebody else allowed to use the name.
And last night before the hockey game I caught the first half of season one of Deadwood. I was MUSHing at the same time, so if I can justify the time I may go back and watch it again because I'm betting I missed a lot of it. And despite that, I still am quite keen to see the rest.
Y'all are doing a very poor job of entertaining me today. Looks like, once again, I'll have to make my own fun.

So. Fast food worker serves food "without regards to the well-being of anyone who might consume it."
Does this mean we can expect to see the corporate boards of fast food places being taken down to the pokey for a night to cool their heels for serving up unhealthy crap and pretending it's food? ...No? It doesn't work that way? Oh. Well what about the corporations that are dumping crap into the air and the water without regards to the well-being of.... No? Oh. Well. Never mind.

I thought there was something else I was going to say. But I can't remember it now.
EDIT: Oh yeah. I was over visiting Caredhel and ForkMonkey and they showed me Justin Timberlake's sultry soulful "Dick in a Box" video. And I finally found an audio version for adding to mix discs.
One: Cut a hole in a box.
