It's all right
Sep. 10th, 2007 11:52 amMy last trip to the library included picking up two Elvis Presley CDs. Much like Rush, Presley was one of those artists that I pretty much avoided or mocked without listening to because of the louder more insane fans. I'm working on breaking out of this blinder, though, and not blaming the artist for the fanbase. (After all, I do enjoy Firefly.)
And there's quite a bit of it I'm enjoying. Odds are good that any song with trumpets, a string section or an organ are going to be on my 'not for re-listening pleasure' list, as well as anything with three young tenor backup singers. But just him and a guitar seems to work pretty well for me. He's still not *THE* Elvis, in my mind, but I've allowed as how there might be somebody else allowed to use the name.
And last night before the hockey game I caught the first half of season one of Deadwood. I was MUSHing at the same time, so if I can justify the time I may go back and watch it again because I'm betting I missed a lot of it. And despite that, I still am quite keen to see the rest.
Y'all are doing a very poor job of entertaining me today. Looks like, once again, I'll have to make my own fun.
