Take a break, Driver 8
Nov. 3rd, 2008 09:52 amThis LA Times editorial destroys the case for Proposition Eight (The California ballot measure to confine marriage to a contract between a man and a woman) by applying FACTS.
I don't think that anybody on this journal who isn't already voting against Prop8 or wouldn't vote against it will be swayed by this article. But maybe you know somebody who would. Or maybe in the next twenty-four hours you'll be discussing it with somebody who would. And you can say "Oh hey, yeah, that New Jersey case where the issue wasn't gay marriage, it was the exemption the church was receiving from taxes" or "Oh hey, yeah, that Massachusetts case where the issue wasn't gay marriage, it was an adoption agency receiving public funds from the government".
