cyrano: (Satchel Can't Do Anything Right)
It's always the little things, the stupid things.

Today at rehearsal, I spent about half of my time with a young lady thrown over my shoulder, carrying her around. And what got me hurt, what tweaked the long muscle in my thigh, is when I knelt down to pick up a prop.

Lots of ow. Driving home was painful, mostly the flexing or extending the muscle like when I went from the accelerator to the brake. So I figured, screw it, it's Detroit, nobody's gonna care, so I just didn't brake.

I have ice on it now, which I know is supposed to help in the long run. But I'm reminded that cold makes my joints ache. I think you should give me pity and sympathy now. Maybe pettins.

After the application of tiger balm, ibuprofin, ice, and pettins, this morning we find that while there is some tension there is no pain. I expect to be up to my usual hijinx in a matter of hours.

Also? My heart is warmed by the collection of birthday wishes. Even the one from my archnemesis that says I hope you roast in hell on your birthday. Thanks, Tigeriffic!
cyrano: (Address Me)
I'm charged with constructing a bio for "Incorruptible" and I want to round it out with a good quote about Faith or Belief. Since it's Friday, today's IFIAYAQD question is: what's your favorite quote on the topic?

Those of you who know me well enough to drive with me also know how my music works. I would listen to a CD once through (sometimes only half through) and then toss it into the back because I wouldn't want to re-listen for a month or two. The mp3 player with the gigantic storage disk has helped immensely with that, ensuring that I could drive from here to the moon and back at 65 mph and not hear the same song twice.

Which is why I find this even more surprising. Matt Nathanson's new single came out on iTunes this week. For those of us who clamor for his attention on the mailing list, we got it a week early. And, barring internet radio, I've been listening to this same three minutes of music over and over and over. Because I can't stop wanting to hear it again. It's weird. I'm hoping I don't end up hating it.
