cyrano: (Jesus Shrugged)
I have fallen off the fat wagon hard and cracked my head. Whenthe fridge is full of special event foods, it's a lot easier to just eat what's there. But, as Boxer says, I will do better.

Thanks to my tax refund, I've paid off another credit card. Only thousands of dollars to go...

If you advertise as a 'free flac to mp3 converter' then I think it is highly unethical and suspect of you to translate exactly half of each file and then say "If you give us money to upgrade, we'll even translate the other half of the file!" Yes, that's right. They convert half of the file. And then wait expectantly, hand out.

This morning, the news reported that the Taliban had broken nearly 500 prisoners out of an Afghani prison by (get this) digging a thousand foot tunnel. Seriously. This sort of wacky madcap old time movie plot is just one more piece of evidence of how behind the times Afghanistan is. Until the Taliban is using Mini cars, bananas in tailpipes, half naked women, or other more modern plot devices, we cannot pull our troops out.

As far as I can tell, right now most of the hours logged on Live365 for Vitamin Cyrano are me listening in the shower, and I'm getting ready to switch from Money to Sex.
If I found the time and plugged in the new programme before the first, would anybody on this stream be sad? (Note--it looks like this one will be longer, which some listeners may find more satisfying.)

Imagine what it would be like if taking BART was a game.
Today I discovered ChromaRoma. You register your Oyster pass (A co-ordinated multi-resource public transportation card that lets you take the Tube, the bus, and a bike-for-hire service I didn't know existed), and choose a team.
Then, for every nexus you visit, your team gets a tick at that nexus. Whichever team has the most ticks 'owns' the station, and receives points for it. There are also Daily Missions (today's is 'Visit Tulse Hill'), Campaigns (thematically linked Daily Missions), and 'be the fastest traveller between X and Y' goals, all of which net your team extra points.
It reminds me a lot of the World of Warcraft goodie system, and I'm sad that I can't play. (If it goes well, they want to expand to other cities, but there may be legal barriers to bringing it to the states. Even if I did live in an area with public transportation.) So maybe I'll just write a Cory Doctorow-style urban youth story where ChromaRoma is an element.
