Coyote Cinema: Machete

I... this was almost everything I expected. This was Rodriguez does a Tarantino flick. It's seventies exploitation, but instead of Blaxploitation it's Mexploitation. It's also Chixploitation, of course. It's all done in lurid da-glo colors and pumped up over the top and then splashed with fake blood. It's all terribly tongue in cheek, and so for the most part you can say "they did awful things but they were making fun of them so it's okay". Alas, only for the most part. However, anytime you say "Hey Steven Seagal and Don Johnson! Danny Trejo is making a movie and we want you to come and play!" then you have to give it four exploding limb-lopping wags.
