After hearing both pre- and post-election pontificating about how awful it was to have more than two candidates in an election, let alone consider voting for more than two, I went over the numbers from this year's polling and voting. My results here are pretty conclusive.

Romney may have cost Johnson this election. If Romney had dropped out, even as late as August, Johnson could easily have doubled his numbers, and who knows how high that could have gone?

Kit strongly advised me to see this after he saw it in cinema. And I can only blame him at this point for not recommending it more strongly. This is... an odd film in many ways, and I need to watch it with subtitles because there was a lot of dialogue I missed for the laughing. The fourth wall does not survive this encounter.

It's directed by Tarsem Singh, who is best known for opulent lush films like The Cell and The Fall, and I was very glad that Jess had a good sized monitor for viewing it, because there are some pretty impressive visuals. There's also a weird technicolor nod to Audrey Hepburn, possibly Roman Holiday (she *is* a princess...), that I don't understand but still loved. The closing credits are done with a Bollywood number that I *really* don't understand but still loved.

And any time you have your heroine say "The prince always saves the princess in the stories. Let's change that this time." then I'm probably going to have a good time.

Four wags and a temptation to own.
