Feeling loquacious today. Or avoiding getting stuff done.
I bought four bottles of iced white tea, and thought I drank one and decided it was okay.
Apparently I just dreamed it, because four bottles are staring at me balefully from the table.

I realized in the shower today that I could be elected to the Presidency of the United States.
Along with the 'holy crap I am old' realization came some of the thoughts that I've been having recently about how I would want to run a candidacy for public office if I decided I wanted to be abused like that. I blame the leftist screeds I've been reading, particularly Hightower and Ivins, the Texas double header, and America: A Portrait of Democracy Inaction. One of these tactics involved channeling the founding fathers, Crossing Over style.
I'm getting... I'm getting the initials 'TJ'. Does that mean anything to anybody? Terrance perhaps? Or Thomas? He wants me to recognize... to recognize the basic Deist nature of most of the Founding Fathers. He also... is there somebody here from the Sun Times? Yes, yes you. He wants me to tell you that... something about the appropriations bill editorial. Does that ring any bells? Perhaps your editor was overly harsh on me? And... and he wants me to recognize that.... that black chicks are totally tasty.
Of course, not that I could ever actually consider running. I'm not heterosexual, I'm not monogamous and I don't lie about it, I'm not a member of a Judaically-influenced religion, I once belonged to the Communist Party (I was ten), and I've been diagnosed with a chemical imbalance that can be spun to sound like a mental disease.

Ah, we long for the days of Paul Wellstone and Mister Smith. Back when we were young, and.... never mind. I grew up with the Reagan administration which is almost as crooked as our current crop.
