I got a billion stars for my witness.
Jul. 12th, 2005 11:34 amSo I know it's terribly selfish of me since it's not my life that's being most impacted by this, but it's my journal and where else am I going to be selfish? I had a lot of travel planned for this month--three of my four weekends were going to be spent out of town--and now, for various reasons, all trips have been postponed. And I'm very disappointed. I stamp my tiny paw and say it's not fair.
But Sunday night I took a drive (I ended up putting about a hundred miles on Nauti's odometer by night's end) and ended up a few miles up a road called Steven's Canyon. I pulled over to the shoulder despite signs that strictly forbade it (which made me a little nervous despite my doubt that anybody would come along and if they did would do anything besides chivvy me along) and listened to what I suspect was Steven's Creek rush along beside the road and watched the stars in the quiet and very dark, and I think there were a lot of things that sort of settled into place. There was also an illegal stroll in the hindmost quarters of Shoreline Park later which was nice.
And last night there were double snuggles, which was also nice. And there was more reality television, which I found alternately cool and disturbing. Apparently INXS is being paid to let a network executive pick the replacement for Michael Hutchence. Which is just fucking wrong. But it means that, unlike what little of American Idol I've seen, some of these contestants actually rock. And also, apparently there's some sort of audience participation thing where Verizon can rake in a few extra thousand dollars by letting the audience decide which person would best fill MH's shoes in the band. Because the audience is going to have to live with this decision, and tour with this person and record with this person and... oh wait. No they won't.

kinda rough on me... not enough nature close enough for me.)
