Posing problems that would cross a rabbi's eyes

So I'm getting a beard for my LARP this Saturday. However. Because I'm a genetic freak, parts of my skin have no melanin. This includes a large swatch of my beard-bearing surface, which means there's a big white patch in my beard. In order to be a proper Persian merchant I'd considered either mascara or greasepaint. I'd also seen that it's going to be rather warm, and am half tempted to say screw it and have a big white patch in my beard. Folks with experience with either cosmetic or stage make up please feel free to chime in.

Also, I really hate talking on my cel phone for extended periods of time because I can't understand much of what is said and either feel stupid and say 'What?' a lot or use context and guess a lot which doesn't feel good. Does anybody have one of those earbud things? Does it improve the quality of sound significantly?

Re earbud: yes, and no, respectively. If you're getting crappy sound, and the speaker and earbud are in perfect working order, you're getting crappy reception. Don't fret; you live in a "challenging geography" where the only solution to crappy reception is throwing more money and more towers at it. Otherwise known as "hit it with a bigger hammer."

So what's wrong with wearing a weird beard? :-)
