For those of you who played FLtD with me (I think there are like a dozen of you on my friends list)--I'm at that point again in my story where I need more information than I can remember. I'm going to go back to my primary sources like a good historian, but I may not actually have learned some of the information I want. Anybody who remembers feel like sharing?

Most of the information I'm looking for is in regards to the Naga. Like--they have some sort of hive mind, right? And they can talk to people outside the hive telepathically? And they're all gorgeous, right? Can they read minds that aren't joined to theirs? Don't they have some kind of queen, like the Borg? They trade soul crystals with somebody in them for.... other soul crystals or something, right? So they can remember the people in the crystals? Or is that the mind reaver guys from B5 that I'm thinking of?
Actually, any Naga related information is probably looked upon with joy.
The two other questions I can immediately think of relate to Melisande. Were her rag-tag desert band called Sand Serpents? And I am of the impression she had short-cropped battle ready hair. Can anybody confirm this or disabuse me of it?
I'll probably think of other things, and will likely go to one of the game freaks (CZR, this would be an excellent time to check your LJ....) as an editor. (: Although in the end I may decide to alter game reality for the better telling of my story. Because I'm a bitch like that.

only sort of off topic

Ron picked up some Creme de Menthe syrup for you. It is minty, and not peppermint.... I could bring it over tonight, if you want.

The four cardinal critters broke into pairs nicely. Two were "Hive mind" oriented, two were individualistic. The Kitsune were clearly individualistic, the Naga clearly hive. The cardinals also seemed to oppose each other. The Mer despised the Aten clearly enough at least. I don't see a lot of reason to believe the Naga are fond of the Kitsune. But I digress.

Yes, the Naga are all lovely, and whatnot as far as I know. Given that they seem hive oriented, I can only assume that they communicated with each other easily enough. Odd that the Lythrex adopted such a similar Hive mind stance in opposition to the Naga.

Yes, there is a Naga queen. I *believe* in antiquity (a few ages back) there was grievous harm done to the Naga (probably by the Yuasa) when the Queen was either wounded or killed, but I don't have firm data on that.

The Asawa were, after a fashion, servants of the Naga, the Minamet bound to to Asawa by love. Based on speculation, when the Yuasa(?) grievously harmed/killed the Naga queen, the Asawa were corrupted, having "betrayed" their masters by not protecting them. Such is the origin of the Yuasa/Minamet feud.

Yes, there are Powers which allows you to Sense the Naga, Summon the Naga, and engage in Asawa's Pact. Asawa's Pact is the method by which you may exchange an Ancestral Spirit bound to you, for one the Naga grant back unto your care. By this, the Naga remain the "living memory" of Mourn, untied to the loss of culture that inevitably accompanies the End Times.

Minamet/Yuasa feud

Don't forget that the Yuasa are really just Eastern barbarians, with the blood of the Aten slave-races in their veins, and thus susceptible to the command powers of the Aten. The Yuasa fought their way through the Minamet and around them to the north, then murdered the Asawa and took their lands. That might have something to do with the feud, not that I'm still ridiculously partisan years after the end of the game. =)

They were silver-haired and perfectly-formed in their human guises, which were part Asawa, and could take on the forms of people with the lower bodies of snakes. They were very, very tough in battle, and remembered the Minamet well as allies and friends (I generaled the battle we fought together against the poor unprepared Yuasa). The one female ambassador, who fell in love with Hideo, used a great bow and arrows in war. They seemed pretty friendly for a supposedly-fundamentally-hostile force.
