Despite my metaphor in the previous entry, the amazing breakdown entry was not intended as a public piece of performance art.
It just looks like it every time I see it after the fact.
(And yes, I finally got 'Still in Hollywood' out of my head. Only to immediately replace it with Tom Jones performing Iggy Pop's 'Lust for Life'.)
Have I done my rant here about *my* music being appropriated to sell cheez doodles or cars or whatever? Today's discovery was Dead or Alive. Also Iggy Pop, The Clash, REM's cover of Superman (Not technically them, but...), Sex Pistols, and Tones on Tail.
I hate advertising whores who do this, especially if they obviously have no idea what the song's about. (Like, say, a song about shooting heroin being used to advertise a cruise line. You be the judge.)
My thought was: I should assemble a list of amazingly inappropriate songs to be used to push product. I'm going to put a starter in the comment section, and if I come up with more I'll throw them there. I encourage you to join me, especially if you use songs I consider '*my* music'. (You'll have to use contextual clues or just guess.)

Oh yeah!

Wouldn't that just be ironic and amusing if it really happened?
