New find: Crossroads World Market, on San Antonio Road just down the block from the Jiffy Lube. Lots of exotic (if not imported) goodies, including an entire shelf of 'pickled things in jars'.
I grabbed a bottle of sour cherry syrup made in Slovenia from sugar and not corn syrup and violet and jasmine candies. Much of the product is displayed on wooden bookshelves which made me feel all warm inside. They have a significant tea display, which is about the size of many markets' display of cheese-flavored corn snacks. Also bulk chickpeas (salted in shell or light salt) fig paste borscht and a variety of Things You Will Likely Not Find at Safeway.

I love pickled okra, artichoke hearts and palm hearts.

I have once had a pickled tomato which... left me confused as to whether I like them or not. ;)

Don't know if I could afford one. :-) Besides I know most of the good food haunts up there (aside from the one you mentioned). Although I do forget directions rather easily. And if I don't go to Beverages & More when I'm up there next, I will go insane.

The boy works for cheap, and he could at least take you around the unfamiliar parts. He's also fairly local to the BevMo at San Antonio, and may be able to get you access.
