Sulu in a skirt.

Interview tomorrow for a telemarketing job. I'm a bit conflicted--I'm anxious about the interview, nervous, but terribly glad that if I get the position it's only for two weeks. The last telemarketing job I had, I kept it for two weeks before I told them to get stuffed.

Equinox snuck up on me, and I forgot about it. But the Lady was looking out for me, and she said 'No sweat. Here's a perfect situation for a belated ritual'. Admittedly, The Weather Channel said 'scattered thunderstorms' but I really wasn't prepared.
We got to Avalon around the twilight time for a barbeque and Angel-watching. (I'm glad I wasn't the only one who saw a huge dollop of irony in having commercials for the upcoming commercial for Lort of the Rings.)*
So anyway, I'm in the backyard because that's where you go for barbeques, watching the lightning play behind blue-purple bruise colored clouds which flowed into each other in a manner that reminded me much of models of dendrites that I'd seen. Very... organic. And I thought 'crap, yesterday was... heck, I can just have ritual here while it's quiet'. And so I did, there in the yard while the clouds slid by, and the light swirled behind them. There was a single jagged tongue that appeared as the sunlight began to fade, and the clouds turned a smooth misty steely blue, the rain began to fall. The first rain of the season. Beautiful. There was that rich new-rain smell, the clouds fading deeper and deeper blue, and the sounds of thunder rolling quietly and friends obsessing over anime swag while the rain fell on me.
All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals. And then people began to notice that it was raining, and I helped Megs save the Chinese lantern thingies as a closing.
And then there was ale and cakes. Or at least Coke and venison.

*Good Christ! Sir Ian's website talks to you. It scared the living shit out of me!

Actually, Equinox was Saturday, not 'yesterday'. But, late is late. :)
