Try to make my way through this ordinary world

I had somebody (I no longer remember who) ask me, before I'd installed the game, what I liked best about the Sims. Was it building and constructing? Was it orchestrating and directing the lives of others?
Having now put a good ten hours into the game, I'm pretty sure what I like best is the wish fulfillment.

I can have a big house with wooden floors and huge rooms and balconies and fireplaces and a big yard and all that.

I can be the cute small redhead geeky-but-still-cute lesbian that lives in the inner me but the outer me is never going to look like.

I can actually accomplish goals that I set, rather than spilling all of my energy into sustaining the position I'm currently in.

I can fast forward through the work day, and it's far far less soul crushing.

Or, fuck it, I can just say I don't want to work and just dump some extra money into my bank account.

It's about getting to actually live my fantasies, one way or another.
Hrmmm. I need to see about making a Sims icon. Possibly of my first character, Random Sample.

Did it. On account of because I'm a big geek. This is Random. She has a big house and accomplishes goals.
