It was very warm today. I didn't do very much that involved movement--made a few follow up calls on some jobs and sent resumes out for others, read some of Mark's lovely game book (I was amused to find a character named Chloe Markham in it) and drank a lot of water and diet cola. But I had a housemate--she wasn't feeling well and stayed home today.
Tonight I had Luc and his ladywife over for Angel night, and we were very pleased with Joss' cleverness. And he and I both admired how Fred was being integrated into the current plotline. And we all loved Skip.
Later, I finally admitted that my financial situation was so completely abgefuckt that it would be terribly indulgent of me to think I was still going to be able to attend OryCon this year, no matter how badly I'd like to pretend that I could go.
And I'm not happy about it, in case anybody should ask.

I'm sure it's no help whatsoever, but I'm pretty much in the same boat. *hug*

Suckage... and suckage and suckage and suckage...

And not in a nice spanky kind of way...

What with me cutting out my visit to CA due to finances, and you having to cut out Orycon similarily, I'm beginning to get cranky...

Perhaps when we both find jobs again, things will be easier.

Miss you...

I'll just crouch here under the computer desk and inarticulately growl, all right? I realize that my personal, selfish wishes are not on the same level as, say, paying rent. Truly, I want you to pay rent, not pander to my social needs. Truly.

Which is not the same as being pleased over it. Or even terribly pleasant. I'll work on pleasant, here, under the computer desk.

Rrrrr.

The good news is that on the news last night I heard that the unemployment rate is rising less quickly now. And I still will want to hear all about the MIT gig. (: *That* sounds like it'll be a lot of fun.

Cyrano pets Jess to smooth out all the crankiness. After all, he said while putting in his brightly coloured PolyAnna hair ribbons, it's not as if California or Oregon are drifting further apart, nor that I want to come and visit any less. Nor, even, that I shall never be able to travel again (unless, in the name of security and prosperity we create a much more strict interstate border).
So you shall not be rid of this bad penny so easily.

Alas, my own personal selfish wishes are pretty impotent at this time too. So I'll give you a list of panels to attend and take notes for me. (: And if Emily won't bite me with her spiffy new teeth, maybe you will.
