It still annoys the crap out of me when PBS refers to Bleak House as 'the companion novel to the miniseries' as if somebody at WGN approached Charlie and said 'Hey, we're thinking of doing a miniseries--want to write a companion piece for it? We're paying by the word!'

Date: 2006-03-06 06:01 am (UTC)My favorite Dickens novel happens to be "Hard Times." It's very powerful and still quite relevant today... with bosses dehumanizing employees and treating them like crap. I highly recommend it.
