Miu.
When I worked for AltaVista I would occasionally (especially returning to work after lunch) experience chest pains. A trip to urgent care at PAMF reassured my co-workers that it was muscular and not cardial in nature. Probably I was too stressed, and I should try to relax. Excellent advice. If it happened off work, I would self-medicate with a shot of something alcoholic and that would usually do away with it. It has only been a problem very sporadically since then.
Waiting for the other shoe?
The last two weeks, it's made a reappearance and not in a fun 'cameo in an indie film' sort of way. I don't particularly care for it. Now that I'm starting to sleep through the night again and getting (according to the medical world) much better and more restful sleep I would like this to resolve and not be a problem any more because I'll have more energy and be way less stressed.

[livejournal.com profile] guavas also gets funky chest pains every so often that doctors assured him weren't heart-related. He also has problems sleeping.

I am wondering if the two are related in some way... like a muscle that reacts badly to a lack of sleep or something...

Dunno, The human body is vague and incomprehensible in its utter complication. The more we learn medically, the more we know we don't know jack. The more we learn, the more often a doctor says "I am unsure at this time what the problem could be"

...but you know, we'll try and keep you alive until we find out. :P

Which, I think, is darn thoughtful of them.

I don't know... their version of "keeping you alive" could very well kill you.

Yeah, but if you were going to die anyway...

Enh. Everybody dies. Sometimes it's sooner than expected, sometimes it's later. And if modern miracle medicine finds a way around that, then bully for them.
