Saint Augustine tells the story of a pirate captured by Alexander the Great. "How dare you molest the sea?" asked Alexander. "How dare you molest the world?" the pirate replied. "Because I do it with a little ship only I am called a thief. You, doing it with a great navy, are called an Emperor."

I should have been upset by the noise planes didn't make for the two days they weren't flying. I should be anxious (more than usual) about me or anybody I know flying. I should be fretting about getting mailed a box of anthrax. I should have loved 'Hush' and 'The Matrix'. Oh, and Harry Potter. What is wrong with my head? Why am I so wrong? And why can't I stay on the same train of thought for more than five minutes?
I think I'm getting less sore from working all day. I hope I am. I've been kind of in constant pain since I started last week, but usually it's been a sort of low-grade background thing. Yay low-grade. Yay less sore. And yay neat people I work with. I like Leslie and Daria and Michelle, Karston is a little insulated but is witty and strange, and Debbi is very nice to work for and loaned me lunch money when I washed my pants and forgot to put my wad back in my pocket.
The weather finally broke, temperatures dropped, and hopefully this Indian Summer crap is gone for the year. No rain yet, but I'm a patient soul. I can wait.
Life is full again. This is what I wanted, isn't it? Well, that and to win the lottery and get a three-record contract with Righteous Babe Records.
