Ha! I have reconstructed five playlists this morning! Admittedly, two of them were rather small, but the iTunes 'making a playlist' thingie is easier, although I rather miss the 'tinker with it but don't save it' function on MMJB.
And speaking of things that I miss--is there any way that I can get iTunes to tell me how much of the CD in the drive a playlist would occupy if I were to burn said playlist to said CD?
I was so pleased with the results from the REMixed CD (even if it didn't sell well) that I'm already trying to fashion similar discs. Prince in a Can, Keeping up with the Smiths, and the aforementioned Hard to Tell Poison from the Cure. Once I come up with a cool name it's harder to abandon the project.

If you check out the bottom, it should list the MB that your playlist consumes, which you can then compare to the total MB on the CD.

That's the only way I know of, but a techie might know more.

I'd take a copy of REMixed, should you care to include one with RoboRallyness. I'm a big REM fan, and that looks like a fun comp.

Argh! Keep reminding me about this. I got jack nothing done last weekend but it's on my list.

That's the best and only way I know of how to do it, but I am also not much of a Mac techie. However, you might see if [livejournal.com profile] scoreboard knows.
