The plumber's not poorly trained, he's not stupid. He just doesn't have the background and expertise you need.

I respectfully disagree with my learned colleague from Mt. View. The plumber is poorly trained in the field of child psychology. Naturally you should not call him to answer questions about young austic children. Children, I might add, who are fighting a mighty struggle against a disease we don't understand, and we must spend more researching so that young girl can have the cure she so desperately deserves. And I promise you, sir, I will fight to get the money, so she can have a chance to pursue the American dream.

In other words, politicians know politics. They know how to make vacuous words sound meaningful and to convince others their opinion is correct and to horse trade. Any actual information a politician spouts is provided by his staff. It sounds like (not your link's doctored version, but either the actual remark or some other doctored version) the Hon. Senator Stevens uses monkeys for this purpose. Or, at least, someone on the Internet thinks he uses monkeys.

Everything is too important to leave in the hands of politicians, except politics.
