Here's your big chance!!!
My credit card company, unaware of the floodgates they are about to open, has given customers the option of using a custom-chosen photo for their credit card. In a comment, you should leave an appropriate photo to be used. Multiple entries are allowed, but may result in receiving only a portion of the Grand Prize.

I have a reserve book at the library and will likely pick it up tomorrow morning. Thus, only eight years after everybody else has, I will read 'Guns Germs and Steel'.

I am returned from Florida. Flying went fairly well, aside from a mild panic in Denver when they cancelled the first morning's flight to San Francisco and I had to fly through San Jose (Nope, too crowded with overflow from the cancelled flight) Oakland (also too crowded) Los Angeles (too full for unknown reasons) Sacramento (WTF?) Fresno (Dammit!) Oh! Wait! A last *second* seat opened up on Fresno and I was able to get home Tampa-->Denver-->Fresno-->San Francisco. I dragged Windrose to a bookstore and enabled her (I'm claiming four of five purchases), and to a pirate movie (I knew I was in Florida when there were three previews for football movies and one for a NASCAR movie) (Oh! And also SNAKES! ON A PLANE!) which I enjoyed a great deal despite not being as glib or witty as the first one, and there was queso blanco yum, and also the aforementioned delightful company of Windrose who is wonderful.

Apparently USPS dropped my copies of DRYH in Mountain View today at 11am so I should hope to see them tomorrow.

As much as I complain that in Stephen King's later work, he desperately needed an editor with a rolled up newspaper, I find myself *really* enjoying the unexpurgated version of The Stand, which was not a slim tome to begin with. The added stuff has tone and character stuff and flavor.

I've had about six hours of sleep since Saturday morning, and I think I've stayed up long enough to go to bed.
