cyrano: (whatever)

If there is one thing I have less interest in than seeing the new Oliver Stone film, it's listening to people pontificate at whatever length permitted about why everyone should buy a ticket or avoid buying a ticket.

I've seen it. It's just a movie, a fairly good one, it is so small scale that the why is quite irrelevant. I don't know why a person would feel the need to pontificate on it, it is just a tale about two guys going through a hellish time, they had very little understanding of what had happened to them, let alone why it had happend.

Hunh. I didn't think it was coming out until to-morrow.
People would feel the need to pontificate about it because it is About Nine Eleven which graces it with an aura of Consequence and Political Import.

Oh, that's right, I'd heard something about that.
If it's a membership thing, I may have to look into joining once I get a normal schedule again.

it is usually sunday am, I think. Not this time. If the idea of paying for a bunch of movies that you don't even know the names of up front, it is a very good deal.

Enh. Probably not. Sturgeon's Law, in general, applies to new cinematic releases for me. Most of 'em I wouldn't even buy a matinee ticket to.

Tix work out to about $6.50, and you get a brunch and discusion with the film makers. The cameras ought to be able to manage an interesting set of movies, you can see some more about it and scheduling on their web site.

Damn. Okay, brunch with film makers is something else entirely.
I don't imagine Ollie showed up for this last one; what sort of attendance did you have there?

A decent crowd, one of the larger theaters at camera 12, it was a thursday night.

I left before the credits finished, blame your girlfriend for that. :-)

They had someone from Hard Candy on speakerphone as I recal.

Damn her, anyway. She's fired.
Yeah, that sounds attractive. I'll have to look into it.
