How can I sing like a girl?
Sep. 8th, 2006 03:01 amFriday! I think. Yes! Yes, it's Friday. And that means questions! Yes, lovely precious questions. The ones you've been saving for a rainy day, the ones your grandmama left you and have been in the family for generations, the ones you found in a curio shop for only a dollar fifty and suspect that they're worth a fortune... all of them! Ask away! I demand questions!

Date: 2006-09-09 12:46 am (UTC)Okay, this question is definitely Hanso dynasty, and these crenellations--see those?--they mean it's a pretty old question. You don't see too many of these any more, and although they're not as popular they're still sturdy and well made. The condition is pretty good, and without this chip--this one right here--I'd say it was worth two or three thousand, easy. But even so, you're still looking at... I'd say fifteen hundred.

Date: 2006-09-09 01:01 am (UTC)Do you do Friday questions just so you can use your Wiley E. Coyote icon?

Date: 2006-09-09 01:05 am (UTC)And no, I mostly do Friday questions just so I have something to do while I'm at work. There are days when something to do is not neccessary, but it's a good back up. I use icons, generally, in place of the 'current mood' field, or as some sort of commentary on the subject matter. F'rinstance, I have the Wile E with a napkin for matters of yummy import, and I have the tired coyote icon for when I'm... tired. I can also use the smoking Wile E or the canyon wall with the coyote-shaped hole in it, depending on the quality of the tiredness. I have the leapsheep icon or the Uncle Scar icon or the Pentium icon for when I'm feeling puckish. And for matters of music, there are the Haring icons with the coyote DJ or the coyote dancing, or the iYote icon.

Date: 2006-09-09 04:51 am (UTC)And does 'Lolita' have the important elements that we consider basic requirements in Russian Literature?
Does everyone drink vodka?
At the end of the story is everyone either dead or miserable?
Is the book at least 2000 pages long and not a car chase to be seen?
Do the characters' names end in -ski or -ov?
Herein, I believe is where we can define just how 'Russian' Nabokov is, compared to Tolstoi, Dostoyevski and Chekhov.

Date: 2006-09-09 04:57 am (UTC)Is it still Friday?
Date: 2006-09-09 03:25 pm (UTC)What colours are tampons packaged in?
I didn't see pink in the feminine hygiene aisle. They were in greens, whites, and blues.
Follow up questions:
Do you feel silly standing in a feminine hygiene aisle checking out what colours the products are packaged in?
Does it help to sing like a girl?
Re: Is it still Friday?
Date: 2006-09-10 01:36 am (UTC)And I feel silly generally, so hanging out in the feminine hygiene aisle mostly allows me to exploit the embarrassment of others who are passing through.
(As to the subject line, I'm hoping I don't run out of song lyrics that are questions for my Friday sessions any time in the near future.)
