I made three trips to the gym (my sort-of-still-target) in three days. First time I've done that. But I don't think I'll get to four. Between the crappy quality of sleep and this morning's very important conference for vehicles with sirens and klaxons near my house, I just want to go home and go to bed.

So the national congress has outlawed eating horses. In the short time given them, this issue rose to the top of their 'This Is Important' list.
The good news is that congress has said that since many places that process horses treat them poorly, this practice must be stopped. Which means that next session I expect they'll also be outlawing the eating of cows, pigs, chickens, eggs, rabbits... we'll probably still be able to eat honey. And salad greens, because salad can't scream and so it doesn't matter what you do to it.

I'm in the market for a bike--something cheap and tanklike that I can use to get from the train stop to work and back, to the gym and back, that sort of thing. (I should probably check first and see if CalTrain's schedule will complement my work schedule or not.) I'm checking Craigslist, Freecycle... I need to see if any of the local bike shops have used stock. And I need a light--maybe a generator light, maybe two lights so I can have one in front and one on the back. I'll probably need baskets or saddle bags too. And I forgot to ask about where I can park it at work.
If anybody has a bike they're looking to unload, let me know. Preferrably somebody in California.

I dont want a pear. I dont want a bagel, I dont want a bean, I wouldn't like a bag of beef. And how many people do you know that listen attentively while they're eating?
