It was fine, but it just fell apart
Sep. 12th, 2006 11:21 amOkay, does anybody out there with some hardware skill want to earn a quick buck doing a house call?
My CD burning drive is all wonky--I can put a CD in there and it will spin and the light will flash green, and then flash orange. (Actually, I just tested this and currently it doesn't spin but the lights still come on.) And my computer can't find the drive. I was going to get in there and take the box apart and find out if maybe it was just a loose wire but I'm never going to do that. So what I'm going to do is ask somebody to come over and do some onsite tekwork--if the drive needs to be replaced, perhaps going to Frye's for a shopping trip and then helping me get the new drive installed. (Depending on prices, probably a DVD burning drive.)
The secondary drive is behaving oddly, but only when interacting with iTunes. Which, of course, is mostly what I ask it to do.
Let me know your hourly rates, and your availability.
