And it's a special holiday edition of Ask Me A Question? Friday! Which means... um. First, that probably nobody will read this unless they're really bored on Monday at work. Second, that all entries should end with the second question (Or first if you haven't been able to come up with your own) of "Would you like some more turkey?"

What are your plans for Christmas Eve?

Would you like some more turkey?

At this point, I have no plans for Christmas Eve. I am not, much to my surprize, working either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. (Which means, by association, that I may actually be able to attend New Year's celebrations as well. Weird.)

I would love some more turkey--do we have any of those candied potatoes left?

Would you like to have dinner at Rancho Huevo with the Egg Clan on Christmas Eve if you don't get a better offer? (We can probably squeeze up to ten people around the holiday table, and my immediate family (including me and Chris) only make six. Besides, we have enough Christmas crackers for 12.) I think I'm going to roast a goose.

I'm not sure about candied potatoes, but would you like some leftover mashed?

I am certainly attracted by that offer, and will try to make certain I have not neglected a ... politically less refusable offer in the next week or two. And the mash sounds good, but only if there's some of the gravy left.

Is gravy-from-a-packet acceptable with the mash?

For the day after, yes, I believe so.

How is the exercise/get in shape thing going?

The exercise thing is often frustrating; I am having trouble making visiting the gym a habit, and although I appear to have shed fifteen pounds so far, it's been over a three year span.
However, even if I lost no weight at all, I would continue with my changes in exercise and diet because over all they're good for me. Plus, with the impending diabetes thing, the changes in diet have become a whole lot more important.

If you would like an ocassional workout buddy I'd be happy to do the gym thing. I'm a member of 24 Hour Fitness but I can always do a guest workout anywhere.

It would probably be easy for me to hit your gym, since it's on my way home from work, but the big scheduling issue is that I go after work, so it's usually around midnight.

I could do a midnight workout if it's a weekend.

Excellent. I usually plan on about 45 minutes to an hour--what's your gym of choice? Do we want to take this to email?

My favorite is the 24 Hour Fitness in San Carlos on Industrial, (between Holly Street and Whipple of 101.)

Any weekend night will be fine by me.

I'm currently planning on going tonight and tomorrow night after work (because I'm way behind...) but that may be too soon.

What's your current musical obssession? And would you like some more turkey?

Ummmm. I very much appreciate the phrase 'current musical obsession' and like it much more than 'what is your favorite' for reasons I have kvetched about extensively before. (:
I made a trip to the library a week or two ago, and picked up an armload of 'stuff the kids are talking about these days'. So the current obsessions are Fountains of Wayne (very pedestrian, I know, but they rock in a most adorable fashion) and the more dance/club side of Bhangra which is more of a revived obsession given the whole "I made a four CD set of belly dance music" thing which included a lot of Persian pop, Bhangra, world dance and whatnot. (:

Ooo. More turkey? Is there some of the dark meat left? Perhaps with the sage stuffing...

What is the proper method of disposing of a punctured vacuum cleaner?

And do you want any more cranberry sauce?

Date: 2006-11-25 12:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cyranocyrano.livejournal.com
Hrmmmmm. I don't think there are any hazardous materials involved, so the big issue would be space. I imagine if you have a complex dumpster it could be heaved in covertly, or... I think there's a semi-yearly 'bring out your big crap and we will haul it away' day in many neighborhoods. I'd contact the apartment managers about it if you'd like to take advantage of that.

Cranberry sauce--only if it's actual sauce and not the jelly goo from a tin. Because I'm a snob.

Of course it's real sauce! Made lovingly by hand from fresh cranberries. You've never seen gastronomical snobbery until you've attended a Black family Thanksgiving. Nothing brought to the table is pre-packaged. That includes the pie crusts and the whipped cream.

Rockin'! So do they raise the turkeys themselves, or just kill them?

From: [identity profile] miss-friday.livejournal.com
Okay, the turkey is packaged (fresh not frozen though), but only so the blood and guts don't come out all over the frig.

I'm sure if someone was willing to go shoot a turkey, we'd cook it.

Seriously, is there anything funnier than an excited puppy trying to run in circles on a hardwood floor?

Would you like some tofurkey? Just a bite?

A kitten with double sided stickytape on one paw.

And I'd love to try some--I've seen some cool textured-meatlike-protein stuff done and I'm kind of curious. (:
