Okay, this arrangement where I can only use the internet in my house at two in the morning after I get home from the gym is not my favorite. In the morning when I wake up, quite often the cats have hidden the internet. I have no proof to support this, however I cannot conceive of a more logical explanation. Either my computer can connect to the router (sometimes multiple routers) but no internet or it cannot connect to anything anywhere. And apparently some nights my internet usage disturbs the cats as I will find that they have suddenly stolen the internet while I was trying to get caught up before bed.
If Tersa is repairing the connection every evening when she returns home from work, then I'm looking into a fifty foot ethernet cable while she's on holiday, or perhaps just spending a lot of time at the public library.

I am not repairing the connection at all. Rather than blast it on LJ, I wish you'd talk to me directly about it first.

And before you buy 50' ethernet cable, we have some in the storage closet.

Sorry, I hadn't meant to be offensive. We had discussed the situation in the past, and our chances of direct conversation are somewhat limited. It's sporadic enough that I can't reproduce it in the lab dependably, which makes it hard to talk to a professional about fixing it.

I hadn't heard about it until the weekend when every computer in the house was having problems, which made trying to troubleshoot it impossible.

You *can* always email me. I did post that the network had fixed itself for me. When I didn't hear anything from you, I had no idea you were still experiencing problems.

Shoot me an email summarizing the symptoms and on which computer/network you're having them? Or having any success with whatsoever? I'll try to work on it from there.

Thanks, hon. I thought I'd mentioned this earlier, as it's been an ongoing thing--it just tends to vary in intensity. This week it's combined a particularly virulent surge with work being effed up and me being sick so I'm especially cranky about it.
