cyrano: (Address Me)

With this new six day schedule I keep forgetting what day it is. I'm pretty sure I forgot it was Friday (instead of it being Thursday and me suddenly being convinced that it's Friday or something) and thus forgot the "Ask Me a Question" post. If that is the case, then I'm extending this a few days and making it a wild "It's the Weekend Ask Me A Question Day/Weekend/Thing!" (ItWAMAQD!)

And that's your cue.

Why is it that the lowcase l's and uppercase I's in non-serif fonts are identical? Who came up with non-serif anyway?

There are those who will tell you that the serif-less fonts were just developed by lazy calligraphers who didn't want to put 'all those extra seriffy things on the letters'. However, these blind sheeple fail to take historical conditions into account. The serif-less fonts were initially developed in the late nineteenth century, as the 'classless society' of Marx was gaining ground in the popular mind. The removal of the serifs was intended as a subtle attack upon the individuality, the very "I" of a meritocracy, in hopes of creating the psychological underpinnings of a society more receptive to the consumption of individuals by the state. Which, I must admit, was very clever of them. But Not Clever Enough, Johnny Bolshevik! We see through your cheap sham, and we spurn you! We spurn you, sir, as we would spurn a rabid dog!
Ahem.
