Obviously, good sir, you missed episode 7, A Measure of Salvation, from earlier this season.
Not sure how I feel so far about this season of BSG. It seems to be missing a certain... something. I can't quite put my finger on it though. Maybe for me it's an element of danger since the Cylons aren't so hellbent on wiping out humanity anymore. There isn't the feeling that they'll show up at any moment and wipe everyone out so we have to be on our toes at every moment of every day.
There's been a lot of trainwreckyness, instead of, say, character development or plot advancement. Unless you consider excessive angstiness to be character development. That's been my biggest problem with the season so far.
It started with the godawful Espenson episode, and I've got to say that I don't particularly care who Kara or Lee are sleeping with, or aren't sleeping with. So that didn't help.
Yeah I've been trying to pin that down too without success. Last season I was on the edge of my seat when an episode was on, this season I usually have to convince myself to watch it. I think my big problem with TWK (and a lot of recent eps) is that they took no chances in it. It was a straightforward bad guy doc and Helo rides to the rescue plot wrapped up entirely too neatly in the end. If they'd left it murky or, better still, had Cottle and/or Tigh aware of what the doc was up to and consciously turning a blind eye (either for racist or pragmatic reasons) I would've really dug the episode.
It was too neat and tidy by far. And dammit if they don't give me a good Starbuck episode soon I may give up on the series entirely. The 10:00 Sunday night crap isn't helping much either.
