Apparently all it takes to get me invested again in a program that's been disappointing me for a while is a little of that good old socialist 'workers control the means of production' jazz.
Jane Espenson, for your work on the episode "Dirty Hands" I hereby grant you some forgiveness for the mess of a muddled unsatisfying episode that was "Passage". Go, and sin no more.

The first half of the episode made me twich a lot.

As has been the custom, Adama and Roslyn were acting somewhat out of character at the beginning, in order to move the plot along.

I simply can't see any of them saying "Yes it's tough all over, now get back to work". What's-his-ass they threw in jail obviously had a legitimate complaint, and they completely blew him off. That happened last week, too, only it was Adama and Tigh, and it irritates me.

At least this time both Roslyn and Adama *ended* the episode back in character.

For both episodes, the *story* was good, but it really felt like they had to hammer it into place a lot and that creates cognitive dissonance for me. Though this week's was somewhat better.

I concur.

I didn't like the episode until the end. I felt a lot of it was forced. I HOPE this Baltar book thing recurs rather than just being another unnecessary element in order to drive an "issues" story that, while certainly appropriate to the setting, hasn't really been relevant before.

Yeah, that's my big concern right now--I'm worried that they've brought up this (to my mind) actual serious concern only to happily resolve it by the end of the episode and then never have to deal with it again because everybody's happy and satisfied.
