It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Dec. 18th, 2001 12:39 amToday is the Official International Day of Hate.
Yesterday I devastated my Book Buyers account and picked up a few presents.
Today I went in to work. I'd only missed one day--I have Saturdays off--but the whole place had apparently gone to one of the seedier more disreputable circles of Hell in that eight hours. Nothing was where it was supposed to be, things had been double-rented, things were late coming back or just not returned, and the boss was ranting. I just about ranted back at her.
I got no lunch, because I more or less forgot about it until five o'clock. I did not deliver presents to work people because I left them on the counter at home with my lunch.
Got out after work and delivered some resumes to local businesses that are resisting the process of letting me give them my information online. Spent a lot of time waiting for busses. I don't think I've mentioned it here, but since I started driving lessons there are times when I really loathe waiting on public transit. Let's pause for a moment and look at that verb, shall we? Loathe. It's not one that I have a frequent or common use for. But there it is.
And I got lost at VallCo (a local amalgam of shops and shoppers perched like a vulture over a large road) and utterly failed to find the bus stop for about half an hour. Spent about an hour (maybe a little more) waiting for light rail, in the cold.
So I have pain and anger and hatred and a strong desire to kick or hit something but a failure to find an appropriate target.
But tomorrow is dinner at Thai City with mony and that will be very nice.
