It's my birthday too, yeah
May. 20th, 2007 11:29 pmWell, no, it isn't, not for another month.
However, every year people ask me what I want, and I usually shrug and look blank and mutter something about seeing people and not needing stuff, or I say hot sex and expensive dinners, or something.
I'm still certainly not in need of more stuff, but I do have some things that I wouldn't mind having.
I'm trying to replace the speakers in my car. This is expensive. I would not mind replacing the rubber weather seals and possibly repair the air conditioning.
Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs and Arcana make smells that I like. Either collaborate with me, or look for gift certificates, or get daring and just buy something you want to smell on me.
My Amazon wish list is pages upon pages of stuff I wanted enough at some time or another to tag. (Somebody let me know if this is actually my wish list or just the list of whomever looks at it.)
With the new job, I should probably look at buying more clothes. If you'd like to take me and give me advice, point me at things, or watch me put them on and tell me if they make me look like Otho in Beetlejuice, that would be lovely whether you were spending any money on the project or not.
I'm trying to pony up $275 for a VIP table at the Hubba Hubba Revue this year, because Lee Press On and the Nails will be playing there. (Link includes video of them doing "Istanbul not Constantinople".) I'd love (a) a driver, so that I don't have to drive in San Francisco and (b) people to join me. The table would seat six guests total, but there would be room in the club for many other people.
Also, there are a couple of book series that I'm trying to get more of. They're both Datlow/Windling productions. I thought I had more of the 'Fairy Tale' anthologies, but all I can find is Ruby Slippers, Golden Tears and Silver Birch, Blood Moon. I also have a collection of the "Year's Best Fantasy and Horror". Currently, I have annuals one, three, four, six through eight, ten, eleven and thirteen.
In addition, all of the things I say every year are still true. And knowing my friends, I am certain there are things they think I need that I never even thought of. (:
