cyrano: (Day Off)

Hunh. Why did I file Pärt before Pergolesi? And speaking of toe-tapping and uplifting music, what happened to my Gorecki composition? Enh. On to Prokofiev. And in the car I'm listening to Ken Burns' Civil War soundtrack, which is quite nice. I suspect I can find something for the Sarah Vowell disc there.

In work news, yesterday was my usual overwhelmed frustrated on the verge of tears sort of day until about two hours before it was time to go. Then I was still overwhelmed but suddenly things seemed a bit more managable. I had been describing my work style as one of the blind men who discovers an elephant. I believe I am now two blind men who have discovered an elephant, because my job is now both a wall *and* a rope.

And since going to the common well has served me so kindly recently, I come to ask the locals about Tai Chi in the area. There's an aikido dojo right behind the house (Thank you [livejournal.com profile] ashtoreth) but Tersa says she'd prefer Tai Chi. The place I was initially favoring (The Tai Chi Academy) is apparently closed for six months and not offering any classes until autumn, and I'd rather not wait that long.

Our local Elephant Pharmacy offers free weekly classes including a Sunday morning (10-11) Qigong class starting this week. If I can shake his cold sufficiently before then I'm intending to go.
