My mom wanted to check my blood sugar levels, so she jabbed me with a pointy pin and smeared my blood on the magic blinky thing. I got a 65, which is a pretty low C on most tests. I'm not sure what it all means, but it may go a long way toward explaining that constant and pervasive exhaustion I feel.

Just found out that there's potential trouble in regards to my flight home. (I failed to take the GOD DAMN OLYMPICS into account in my travel plans and am now feeling not very bright at all.) It seems all the flights directly to SJC from SLC are filled until Tuesday sometime, but if I can get on the flight early tomorrow morning to SLC then I may be able to get routed through Fresno or Santa Barbara and still make it to work on Monday morning. If not, then... Fate only knows what I'll do when. The future is once again a tempestuous and unpredictable tart.

I thought 65 was pretty normal? Then again, I don't know much about hypoglycemia (other than: when my blood sugar is low I get shaky and cranky and can't concentrate, carbs are a half-hour fix tops, and I really need a large dose of protein to make it go away). Anything much over 100 for any length of time is diabetes territory, IIRC. My mom stuck me a while back and I was somewhere in the 70s, which she said was fine and good.

Have you been checked for anemia? One of the major symptoms is that pervasive exhaustion of which you speak. It's a really simple blood test, and if you're feeling really cheap you could go try to give blood, since they'll check your iron level before letting you donate (though it's simply a yes/no answer). Anemia is pretty easy to fix, too, if that's it - just pop some extra iron and try to eat more red meat.

Hope you can get back without too much trouble!
