Aug. 18th, 2007 07:09 pmToday has pretty much been an exercise in fail.
I got part way through the moving project this morning, and my body gave out.
I tried to get to Ichiban Kan in San Mateo to pick up Bento stuff I'd promised to bring Kira before the wedding this weekend, and we were thwarted by ten miles plus of stop and go traffic on 101 thanks to what we suspect was a 49ers preseason game. Who knew the pre-season was so desperately popular? (However, since nobody answered the phone when I called to ask if they were open tomorrow, odds are good that even if we had sat through that snarled mess they would have been closed.)
I tried to find a Sprint store to sell me a new battery for the cel phone (which now goes about thirty seconds between opening and activation) before the wedding this weekend. The stores (and the Sprint 800 number operator, after I sat on hold for about half an hour) stared at me with incredulity over the phone, wondering why I was using such an ancient model, then told me they didn't sell that model any more (some of the folks had never even heard of the model) and didn't I want to buy a new phone?
Not so much, really. I kind of miss my old phone. It made phone calls. It was always active. And the battery charge would last a week. But the battery charger was failing, and they don't make that model of battery charger any longer either.
The spammer wrote me back, as did one of his friends (the childless Mother Jones) and I don't even have the energy to taunt them. Now I'm on hold with Alaska airlines. Hopefully this call will go better.
If not, I think I'll just go to bed early.

Date: 2007-08-19 03:28 am (UTC)Good luck with Alaska Air - I almost exclusively use their web interface (which is actually pretty good) to save on having to deal with them via phone. It was enough of a hassle doing so once to get the name on my air mileage account changed. And the operator who changed it was apparently caps lock-challenged - because now, whenever I go to reserve a ticket, it puts it in as reserved for "Ms. Ambrosia ROSE".
Ah, well...

And whenever I should refer to you, I'll remember to shout at the appropriate point.
