And a dog named Boo
Sep. 9th, 2007 07:48 amYesterday was the OKCupid social event at Dolores Park in the City. I met a whole bunch of people, and a whole bunch of dogs. I took water and sunscreen because we were bound to need both. I took CDs and playing cards, just in case. I took a whole bunch of photos, none of which I was actually happy enough with to keep, and have a new crush to go with my current collection.
We talked a lot, and not entirely about computers or gaming, and it was delightful. After the potluck-y afternoon gathering, I dragged my carpool guys to BorderLands Books so I could bring Jude some tea. But she was on holiday in Hawaii. But the counter guy and I geeked extensively about character and plot and dialogue and actors and network politics in a Firefly setting, and I bought a copy of Agyar for Nutty to thank him for being the driver, and then spent way too much money on books I probably didn't need because I don't have enough books. More books please!
Afterwards, we went across the street to the Phoenix (that Irish Pub) where we had a lovely waiter and a dark noisy atmosphere which pretty much prevented me from seeing people or talking to them. But I did get to sit next to them, and really that's good enough for me.
Today I am definitely feeling dehydrated, despite being pretty sure I'd had enough water. But I did not get burned, and I had a lot of fun. Now I decide if I have enough energy to go to the Farmers' Market.
